Mumbai, 28th May 2009 - New release of Seclore FileSecure includes components developed along with C-DAC to support Open Office natively, supports identity federation using third party federation services as well as custom adapters, provides enhanced roles for ease of administration for large enterprises and also integrates with storage systems and fileservers.

Seclore, a high growth company focusing on information rights management and secure outsourcing solutions today announced the availability v2.9 of its flagship rights management product Seclore FileSecure. With this release Seclore has significantly eased large scale enterprise deployments of Seclore FileSecure. Major enhancements in this release include

1. Support for Open Office natively along with 100s of other formats and applications – Due to a large number of requests for organizations using or moving to Open Office, Seclore FileSecure now supports all Open Office formats (including MS Office formats like doc, xls & ppt) natively in Open Office. This is over and beyond the hundreds of MS Office, PDF, text, image & engineering design formats & applications already supported. A few months ago, Seclore had announced a partnership with CDAC open source technology where the two enterprises had committed to bring security to open source technologies.

2. Identity federation & multi factor authentication – Enterprises create and manage identities of various stakeholders in multiple heterogeneous systems i.e. MS Active Directory / LDAP for employees, vendor portal for vendors, customer portal / core banking system for customers. Seclore FileSecure enables secure collaboration with all the stakeholders by providing an adapter kit which can use existing multiple identity stores using a single system. Seclore FileSecure can work with third party identity federation services also. With the capability to integrate with existing applications’ authentication system, the new Seclore FileSecure can also support multi-factor authentication.

3. Integration with backup / storage systems and automated protection – With the new / enhanced automated protection for storage / fileserver systems Seclore FileSecure now provides an unprecedented ease in IT administration and mass / automated protection

4. Allocation and separation of duties – System administrators can now allocate responsibilities of protection, policy definition to OU (Organization Unit) administrators as well as end users while retaining control. This can significantly lower the overheads of policy administration on system administrators and allow “self service” for distributed teams.

5. Flexible reporting – Seclore FileSecure now comes with flexible reporting on activities which can significantly lower costs of compliance reporting and ease forensics.

Seclore FileSecure released with DLP integration framework, granular rights and 2 factor authentication

$
0
0

India, Mumbai 18th January 2010: Seclore (http://www.seclore.com) the fastest growing Information Rights Management product company today announced the availability of Seclore FileSecure v2.15.

The release includes:-

DTP framework for integrating with DLP systems: This unique framework of IRM-DLP integration architecture provides a seamless interface for content aware DLP technologies to use Seclore FileSecure's rights management capabilities. The framework allows all components of a DLP system i.e. Endpoint security & Network / mail security to automatically tag and protect information based on content classification using Seclore FileSecure. This brings automated discovery, tagging and security to all enterprise information when it travels within and outside of the enterprise.

"With the DTP framework it becomes very easy for DLP system providers to integrate with Seclore FileSecure, thus extending the reach of the otherwise 'enterprise-only' technology beyond the walls of the enterprise" says Rahul Kopikar, Head of Business Development of Seclore

Built in two factor authentication: Seclore FileSecure comes with a technology to lock information (on first use) to physical machines such that the information can now be accessed only by that user identity i.e. what he/she knows and that specific machine i.e. what he has ! In case of the user identity being compromised or malicious users sharing identities, the critical information of the enterprise can still be protected. By allowing information to be optionally locked down to physical machines the most common needs of multi factor authentication system can be served by the Seclore FileSecure.

Highly granular rights : A lot of times users avoid IRM technologies because rights are "all or none". In most IRM systems if a user needs to run macros OR share a document over a desktop sharing utility OR allow parts of a document to be copied then he needs “full control” rights. Such scenarios force enterprises to give "full control" of information to users thus defeating the purpose of security. Seclore FileSecure comes with granular rights for enabling / disabling use of macros, screen capture tools, copy/paste functionality as well as distribution of information within a closed group. This granularity means that people can be allowed to perform their regular tasks without inhibiting their productivity while ensuring that information security is maintained.

"Seclore has introduced new concepts in the IRM space which will significantly enhance the value and ease the adoption of IRM techologies for enterprises" said Vishal Gupta, CEO of Seclore

Seclore FileSecure integrates with Symantec DLP

$

0

India, Mumbai 4th May 2010: The union of Seclore FileSecure and Symantec DLP brings about the integration of two complimentary capabilities that creates a commanding security solution to protect the transmission of confidential data.

Accessing, sharing and disseminating information is crucial to the smooth functioning of any organisation. But with offices going more mobile than ever, the threat to confidential data is on the rise. Organisations face losses in millions of dollars every time there is a data breach. While DLP and IRM have both, in their own way, been instrumental in changing the way they protect information leakage, each has its own share of benifits and limitations. Now, with the integration between Seclore FileSecure and Symantec Network Discover DLP, enterprises can enjoy the benefits of a complete security solution when data is on the move, at rest or in motion.

Seclore’s FileSecure has already established itself as a tool for persistent document protection, an effective instrument through which companies can have total control over crucial data even after the documents have been distributed. As far as DLP technology goes, Symantec leads the pack by catering to the enterprises’ demand for an all-encompassing protector of confidential information across endpoint, network and storage systems.

When Symantec DLP detects the misuse of confidential data, it prevents the information from being distributed further or removes it from the file servers. Complimenting that, Seclore’s FileSecure places usage controls at every level of the use and transmission of the data so that the risk of breach of security is minimal. Thus, for enterprises, the alliance between Seclore’s FileSecure and Symantec’s DLP translates into easier transmission of data without compromising on the security aspect.

To offer enhanced Information Righs Management (IRM) security for Newgen Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System

Mumbai, India 2nd June 2010: Seclore Technology and Newgen Software today announced a strategic partnership to provide a combined ECM and IRM system to customers. With the Seclore FileSecure connector for Newgen Omnidocs it will be possible for organizations to define information 'usage' policies centrally and ensure that these policies are applied to information even when it goes out of the ECM system and outside of organization perimeters. The coming together of Seclore FileSecure and Newgen OmniDocs is a huge leap towards secured management of content.

Newgen Software, a market leader in business process management (BPM) and enterprise content management (ECM), provides ECM solutions, built using “OmniDocs™”. Newgen ECM solutions enable enterprises to create, capture, manage, deliver, collaborate and archive large amounts of content effectively.

Information “owners” can control WHO (people / groups within / outside of the organization) can use, WHAT (view, edit, print, forward.) can each person do, WHEN (dates, time-spans.) and from WHERE (locations, computers,) information can be used. It can attach precise restraints to the document to dictate the use and further distribution of the document. These controls are persistent and travel with the information as it travels within and outside of organization boundaries. Seclore FileSecure also provides persistent tracking and auditing of the information usage thus helping in forensic analysis and regulatory compliance to frameworks like ISO, SOX, PCI & GLBA.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership with Seclore, Mr. Hariesh Gur, VP, Newgen Software said, "We are delighted to announce our partnership with Seclore, which shall enable us to add further value to our customers by enabling protection and tracking of their content even after it leaves their content repository .”

“Seclore FileSecure integrated with Newgen Omnidocs provides organizations with enhanced information security outside of the control perimeter of Omnidocs without change in the existing workflow process” says Rahul Kopikar, Head of Business Development at Seclore.

Mumbai, India 13th July 2010: Seclore Technology has found a place in the privileged list of ‘Hidden Gems’ by Kuppinger Cole, Europe’s leading information security analyst firm. This published report by Kuppinger Cole includes vendors, which have a significantly differentiated offering and are market leaders in a particular segment.

Speaking at the event, Martin Kuppinger had the following to say:

“In contrast to most of the established solutions, Seclore works with a pretty lightweight approach which is easy to use across the boundaries of an organization vis-a-vis building a complex back end infrastructure. It is more of a client-side approach, so it doesn’t really require technical integration into applications which makes it pretty attractive for several use cases, for example, to connect few partners quickly for exchange of information in a secure manner”

Seclore CEO Vishal Gupta said on this occasion – "Kuppinger Cole is one of the premier security analyst firms in Europe and we are delighted to be in the list of vendors to look out for. I believe the key value proposition of Seclore's technology i.e. its ease of use and ease of integration is the prime reason for Seclore's inclusion. Seclore is delighted by this honor”

About Hidden Gem:
The report gives a quick overview on every selected company, covering the particular strengths of the vendor. It covers the vendors which are not yet stars in the worldwide markets but have the potential to gain that status in the foreseeable future. There are strong opportunities in selecting products and services of innovative, young vendors – of the Hidden Gems. Some of the vendors have a remarkably, significant customer base in their market segments or are even amongst the market leaders in some industries or countries. The vendors that make the cut are mostly companies which established in a specific country but do not have much of a global presence. They must also be vendors that, as per Kuppinger Cole, add to the real business value of an organisation from a mid to long-term basis.

Seclore’s FileSecure Information Rights Management and Websense Data Loss Prevention Solution Unite to Provide Comprehensive IRM to Enterprises

$

Mumbai, India 3rd August 2010: Seclore today announced that their Seclore FileSecure Information Rights Management (IRM) and Websense® data loss prevention (DLP) will be available as an integrated solution to combine leading technologies to extend DLP policies beyond the enterprise perimeter. The combined offering enables companies to reduce manual rights application, cost and complexity, and ensure that policies are applied consistently and pervasively. As a result, customers will be able to automatically discover, tag, and protect confidential information within and outside of the enterprise.

Websense, with its market-leading content-aware DLP capabilities, identifies and classifies content on the fly and integrates with the Seclore FileSecure DTP framework for automatic classification to protect data when that data is in use both inside and outside the enterprise. The combination of Seclore IRM technology with Websense content-aware intelligence provides increased and more efficient security without compromising employees’ ability to collaborate securely and extend data protection policies outside the perimeter.

The combined Websense and Seclore solution streamlines data identification, classification, and protection, by automating policy-based controls. The highly accurate content awareness delivered in Websense Data Security Suite eliminates the need to manually classify and secure files, while Seclore then automates and extends the appropriate security controls to the files. The integration helps organizations maximize their investments in IRM and DLP for better, more effective security at a lower total cost of ownership.

The enhanced security received through this integration enables companies to maintain their current business workflows while protecting sensitive information. Benefits include:

  • Extending DLP policies outside the enterprise perimeter
  • Lowering IT administrative overhead through automated application of content-aware policy controls
  • Facilitating compliance and auditing of unstructured data (e.g., PDFs, MS Office formats, email, Web pages) inside and outside the organization
  • Enabling collaboration involving new technologies, such as dynamic Web-based applications
  • Maintaining business workflows while securing sensitive data

“The combination of Websense DLP and Seclore FileSecure brings together the best of both worlds for enterprises. The Websense DLP solution puts the control of Seclore FileSecure policy application in the hands of the enterprise” says Rahul Kopikar, Head of Business Development at Seclore.

“With the combined solution, customers can easily define and implement content-aware policies, which analyze the information in files in real time as they’re created, used, and stored. When a file is discovered and Websense intelligence identifies its contents, the solution will automatically apply policy-appropriate IRM that will remain with the file and its contents no matter where the file is used or stored, whether on or off the network” explains Surendra Singh, Websense Regional Sales Director for India.

Seclore FileSecure, the leading Information Rights Management (IRM) technology is going to work alongside Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technology to help enterprises protect their intellectual property. The persistent security provided by Seclore FileSecure will help enterprises collaborate within and with business partners without worrying about data theft.

Mumbai,India 17th August 2010:Seclore technology today announced its partnership with Siemens PLM to integrate and provision each company's respective technology for greater value. The partnership will initially focus on integrating Seclore FileSecure with the Solid Edge line of products. This will allow enterprises using Solid Edge suite to define, implement and audit information usage policies using Seclore FileSecure.

"With more than 40% of world's 3D data being managed by Siemens PLM software, Seclore is proud to be a Siemens partner. The integration of the two technologies will initially focus on the Solid Edge suite and then extend to the Teamcenter and other product lines of Siemens PLM" said Rahul Kopikar, head of business development at Seclore.

The Seclore FileSecure IRM system will provide Solid Edge users with a method to define WHO can use the information, WHAT can each of the people do, WHEN can they do it and from WHERE is this access allowed. Since the controls are persistent they will get implemented even when information is with business partners and vendors. Once the legitimate use is over the controls can be changed so that the same drawings and designs are not available outside of a closed user group anymore.

New release from Seclore eases IRM system integration with existing and new IT infrastructure for enterprises.

Mumbai, 9th Sept 2010 - Seclore today announced the availability of V2.20 of its flagship IRM technology - Seclore FileSecure. The fundamental driver behind the new release is making the IRM technology 'integration friendly'Abhijit Tannu, CTO of Seclore explains - "As the adoption of IRM technology increases, enterprises and ISVs will be forced to integrate other technology elements with IRM technology. The latest release of Seclore FileSecure acknowledges this fact and also cuts down the time to integrate by 80%".

Some of the major enhancements within this release is :

1. Integration framework for new desktop applications, operating systems -Enterprise applications and IT infrastructure is constantly evolving. With V2.20 Seclore FileSecure has incorporate a framework for incorporating compatibility with a wide variety of operating systems like Windows 7 and desktop applications. Seclore's recent partnership with Autodesk has already delivered results with this release supporting dominant AutoCAD applications. This is true for PDFs also where the release gives enterprises the freedom to use the smaller footprint and secure Foxit PDF reader and supports rich annotation within the reader itself. Numerous image formats can be protected and rendered within the rich inbuilt image viewer or other dominant desktop imaging tools.

2. Integration framework for new information processing applications -Seclore FileSecure has incorporated a framework for integration with a variety of transactional and information management (IM) applications. The framework has already been put to use by the company demonstrating integrations with IBM FileNet and Newgen Omnidocs, the most dominant electronic content management systems globally and in India respectively. The integration framework for transactional and IM applications allows applications to seamlessly incorporate IRM functionality and protect information leaving the application via downloads / check-out and ensure that the incoming information can be unprotected before being stored. Web service based APIs combined with a pluggable framework significantly ease this integration.

3. Integration framework for Data Loss Prevention(DLP) & E-discovery systems - The new release also incorporates the Discover-Tag-Protect (DTP) framework released earlier this year for integration with DLP and electronic discovery systems. The DTP framework allows content discovery and classification systems to protect discovered information based on rules and policies defined within. Various components of the DLP can use desktop, network and web based APIs to automate the protection of classified information.

4. Integration framework for new identity stores - Seclore FileSecure V2.20 incorporates a formal method of integrating with standards compliant as well as proprietary authentication systems. With standards compliant authentication the support is built in using the identity integration frameworks which includes numerous industry standard systems like Microsoft AD, SunONE, Domino, Tivoli & OpenDS. For propreitary systems a framework for identity federation as well as SSO provides an easy-to-use method to use the systems identity store for authentication of Seclore Filesecure protected documents.

5. Ease of management and use - Further reducing the IT overheads and increasing the usability of the system, V2.20 incorporates functionalities by which administrative activities can be audited for compliance to business rules and policies. Also as an added feature, information about desktop configuration and application details can be exported for easy management of end client infrastructure and resolving potential conflicts.

With V2.20, Seclore FileSecure has made the bold step of moving IRM technology from a security application to a security infrastructure which has the capability to become the backbone of borderless security. "As enterprise applications and information and systems get spread across internal and external service providers a method to uniformize information usage becomes critical. Seclore FileSecure is positioned to fulfill that need" says Vishal Gupta, CEO of Seclore.

New release from Seclore provides multi-lingual capabilities, provides a zero over head method of managing external users' identity and supports latest enterprise infrastructure components like Windows 7, 64 bit, Office 2010 & AutoCAD 2011

India,Mumbai 6th April 2011 - Seclore today announced the availability of V 2.25 of its flagship IRM technology - Seclore FileSecure. This release carries forward the basic the "integration friendly" philosophy which the company believes is the key success factor for any IRM technology. This is done by demonstrating rapid development and integration with some of the key components of any enterprise IT infrastructure. Some of the major enhancements in this release are :

1. Support for the latest enterprise infrastructure - Seclore FileSecure is evolving rapidly along with desktop computing environments. The latest release supports 64 bit operating systems , 64 bit applications, Office 2010, AutoCAD 2011. This makes it easier for enterprises to adopt the latest technology and increasing the performance of existing applications.

2. A zero over head method of managing external user identities - In any IRM technology, protected information normally reaches external entities like vendors, customers, auditors, lawyers & consultants. Identity management for these external entities can, very quickly, become a project by itself. Seclore FileSecure now comes with a zero overhead method of managing external user identities based on email addresses with a self service mechanism of identity creation which can still go through enterprise approvals. This reduces the time and complexity of external user identity management significantly. This is over and beyond the identity federation system which can support existing enterprise identity management systems.

3. Multi-lingual support - This release of Seclore FileSecure comes with multi-lingual, internationalization (i18n) and localization support. This means that users spread across geographies can use the same system in their respective languages. This release supports English and German as the two languages.

"Large enterprises with users spread across geographies and exchanging information with various external stakeholders will find this release significantly "lowering the bar" for IRM technology adoption" said Vishal Gupta, CEO of Seclore

AutoCAD users can now benefit from the leading Information Rights Management (IRM) solution for native protection of AutoCAD files. Seclore FileSecure will help engineering companies protect designs and drawings shared with business partners without worrying about data misuse or theft

Mumbai,India 19thApril 2011: Seclore, the company that in Sept 2010 announced “The most integration friendly IRM system”today announced one of the first value additions from its integration framework i.e. native protection of AutoCAD software files within and outside of the enterprise. The series of connectors for various AutoCAD products will allow enterprises to define, implement and audit information usage policies using Seclore FileSecure for designs and drawings.

Engineering and Manufacturing companies constantly exchange intellectual property in the form of AutoCAD design documents within the organization and with external agencies like sub-contractors, outsourced design agencies and customers. As design documents move across enterprise perimeters their security becomes dependent on the security measures of each enterprise. Using the series of connectors for AutoCAD, enterprises can now monitor and control these design documents against misuse and theft.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Autodesk. With Seclore FileSecure connector for AutoCAD, engineering and R&D firms can now easily control usage actions (like view, edit, print, copy-paste, etc) at the receiver’s end. The documents can also be remotely disabled at the end of the collaboration activity” says Rahul Kopikar, Co-Founder and Head of Business Development at Seclore.

“With Seclore FileSecure support for AutoCAD, data leakage concerns during collaboration of designs and drawings is no longer an issue,” said Charlie Crocker, Senior product line manager for AutoCAD at Autodesk. “The partnership provides further value to our customers by enabling protection and tracking of their designs inside and outside of the organization.”

Seclore releases the world's first completely browser based IRM system

Seclore FileSecure Web Connect will enable a completely browser based experience for accessing protected content. Challenges introduced by the need for downloading and installing desktop IRM agents requiring administrative rights will be removed. This release will enable large scale adoption of IRM protected content with external entities and access on mobile devices.

Mumbai, India 20th Sept 2011 : Seclore, today announced the release of the world's first completely browser based IRM system. Seclore FileSecure, "The most integration friendly IRM system in the world" will now come with Seclore FileSecure Web Connect for secure IRM protected content access within the browser.

Exchange of confidential information with external entities like customers, vendors, lawyers and auditors should be protected by IRM policies. The need for a software agent on the recipient's computers, however, makes the process long and circuitous sometimes involving IT teams of the two companies.

With Seclore FileSecure Web Connect, external users can authenticate and access protected content without going through any process of downloading & installing. The only pre-requisite is a modern browser. The system has been tested to work on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera but should work with any browser.
"In our experience, the biggest stumbling blocks to enterprise adoption of IRM systems are:
1) Downloading and installing of desktop agents requiring administrative permissions &
2) Restrictions on mobile device access.
With a completely browser based interface client Seclore FileSecure we believe that we have removed these constraints completely. We believe that this will also make Seclore FileSecure the most external user friendly IRM system in the world !" said Vishal Gupta, CEO of Seclore.
"Concepts like Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) are gaining traction within enterprises today. I believe Web Connect will enable enterprises to securely collaborate within and outside the enterprise on un-managed devices easily and quickly" said Abhijit Tannu, CTO of Seclore.
